Dragonflies in the Jurassic
You
are looking at a dragonfly fossil (Cymatophlebia longialata) from the Jurassic limestone of Germany. These lived between 200 and 145 million years
ago.
Invertebrates
were the first group of animals to evolve powered flight, 100 million years
before any other group would take to the sky!
